Introduction to the CAMReq System
What is CAMReq?
CAMReq (ComputerAccess Modification and Request System) is a component built into EIS which can be used to request a new employee's EUID and EMPLID to be created, submit notifications for computer access changes, and to receive notifications of EIS role removals.
CAMReq solves several issues that have been an issue in the past at UNT. It allows for timely creation of computer IDs, timely modification or termination of computing access, and it automates the ability to notify key individuals across campus when timely computer access changes are needed.
It is important to note that the modification and the EIS role removal reports functions of CAMReq were created due to an audit finding. Unless your department has an established process for auditing computer access and removing roles/accounts in a timely matter, you will need to use CAMReq to meet this audit requirement.
Additional CAMReq Information
The requesting of computer IDs function of CAMreq is designed to be used for Non-Student positions only. CAMReq also does not replace Human Resources or Budget Office processes for employing new personnel, it simply expedites the creation of computer IDs. Lastly, it can only be used for COMPUTER access or modification requests.
Who Will Need Training?
In order to begin using CAMReq, there are specific individuals who will need to attend training from your department in order to utilize the system. The base dept-id holder (referred to as the Approver in CAMReq) must attend training before a department can begin using CAMReq. The dept-id holder will also want to bring an individual acting as a designee for the dept-id holder (referred to as the alternate approver in CAMReq), and an individual responsible for supporting employee personnel services (referred to as the Requestor in CAMReq).
